Climbcon pledges support to emergency services initiative, You Are Awesome

The UK’s newest business conference, CLIMBCON, has announced it will be supporting charitable initiative You Are Awesome at its first event this June.

Taking place at the Sofitel Hotel, Heathrow, CLIMBCON is a one-day business conference that invites entrepreneurs to learn what it takes to build, develop and grow a successful business through a panel of inspirational guest speakers, including Lord Sugar, Piers Morgan and Founder and Host, BBC Apprentice Winner, Mark Wright.

Other speakers will include Founder and CEO of Imagine Cruising, Robin Deller, together with Michael Howard, Chairman of Maris Interiors and the You Are Awesome initiative.

Developed to encourage the UK public to support, respect and show gratitude to those working within all sectors of the Emergency Services, You Are Awesome was developed by Howard in September 2018 after witnessing an angry driver placing an abusive note on the windscreen of an ambulance, which complained about how the vehicle was parked.

Since this date, Michael and his growing team of supporters have aimed to reverse negative attitudes by providing notes of gratitude to emergency service workers that ensure they feel valued in their role. This has included the distribution of £5 Pret A Manger vouchers to London based workers during Christmas 2018.

Both Wright and Howard will be introducing You Are Awesome to CLIMBCON’S 500 delegates later this month, with a goal to raise increased support and awareness for the campaign.

Mark Wright confirmed: “I first heard about the You Are Awesome initiative at the end of 2018 and immediately knew this was something I wanted to support. Members of the UK public are incredibly lucky to have access to the NHS and through negative commentary surrounding GP and hospital wait times, for example, I often feel this is forgotten.”

“Emergency services workers save lives day in and day out. Taking just 5 minutes each day to ensure they feel valued in their role is what You Are Awesome aims to deliver and is a message I will be proud to support at CLIMBCON later this month.”

Since September 2018, the You Are Awesome movement has received support from several profiled individuals, whilst encouraging the public to respect and appreciate the NHS and Emergency Service workers across the UK.

Friday 13th September 2019 will mark the initiative’s first ‘You Are Awesome’ day, which will be dedicated to driving increased awareness and support for Emergency Service workers nationwide.

Michael Howard added: “You Are Awesome has been created to transform perceptions and attitudes towards emergency service workers, ensuring they feel nothing but respected and valued in their role. I am delighted that CLIMBCON has chosen to support the initiative and am thoroughly looking forwards to increasing awareness of the campaign later this month. Without the support of others, negative attitudes towards emergency service workers will remain and this is something we are dedicated to changing for the long-term.”

Taking place on Friday 28th June 2019, CLIMBCON is the first Business focused conference to be launched by Mark Wright, business partner to Lord Sugar and Founder and Managing Director of digital marketing agency, Climb Online.
